“If we, designers, aim to
contribute to healing the web of life, our practices also need healing.”

My evolving ethos, embodied qualities toward practice:

1.

Attunement

Attunement is reflexive attention, the ability to notice what the situation affords and act accordingly.

2.

Affect

Affect emphasizes the emotional engagement in relations between individuals and the world crucial for imaginative futuring. Emanating from the heart or corazón in Spanish, this emotional engagement is referred to by Latin American Indigenous scholars as corazonar or “reasoning from the heart” (Cepeda H., 2017; Guerrero Arias, 2010).

3.

Openness to mutual transformation

This is about embracing the potential to create thriving worlds, both personally and collectively
